Hannah Brannon and Sophie Double Qualifying Runs in the Novice Standard division and Novice Jumpers With Weaves division The American Shetland Sheepdog Association (ASSA) hosts an annual National Championship Competition every year. Last year ASSA Nationals were in Ogden, Utah, this year they were in St. Louis, Missouri. About 2,000 people participate in all of the this event. There were about 280 Dog Agility Competitors from all over the nation. Joanne and her dog Blaze had qualified in here state competitions to compete in the Excellent A division for the Jumpers with Weaves event (this is the second highest division at the trial). She won First Place in this event in nationals competing against 30 other competitors from across the nation. She and Blaze had a fantastic run beating the closest competitor by over 3 seconds! They came in Third Place in there Open Standard Competition which was icing on the cake for a great day. Hannah and her dog Crystal qualified to compete in Excellent A and Open Jumpers with Weaves. Hannah and Crystal won Second Place in Open Jumpers with Weaves! Hannah and Crystal were competing against 22 other competitors. Hannah was one of only about 3 other Junior Handlers at the competition. They had a non-qualifying run in Excellent A. Hannah also gave her newest Agility Dog named Sophie a taste of the action. Sophie was competing in the Novice division and did not place but did have qualifying runs for both of her events.
